The 2004 Volvo V50 joined the S40 Sedan, C30 Hatchback and second generation C70 - as a Coupe-Cabriolet, on the Volvo P1 Platform. The V50 replaced a similar sized car, the S40 - V40 twins, which had been developed in conjunction with Mitsubishi.
