BMW launched a Coupe version of the New Generation model in 1965, named 2000 C and 2000 CS are a replacement for the low-volume V8-engine BMW 3200 CS, designed by Bertone. The 2000 CS was in turn replaced by the BMW E9 CS coupe using 6-cylinder engines.
