Manifesto for a global LEGO Truck Trial website. This document displays the general ideas, goals and feasibility of a global Lego TrTr website (further called “the website”). At the beginning, each of us built Lego Trial Trucks alone or only with our neighbor(s). Then we discovered the Internet and a multitude of websites have been created on our mutual hobby, most by some of the readers of this Manifesto. General Idea There are currently a lot of websites on TrTr, but most of them are in local languages. Only a few are in English and can be understood by almost everyone - at least, by the most part of us builders. The general idea of the website it is to centralize data, trucks, builders, ideas, techniques, experiences, links, and all the stuff about Lego TrTr. Of course, the website does not intend to supplement all the existing websites but to regroup all the online content in English. Structure • Forum, All posts and announcements will be in English, democratic (everyone can post), moderated (to avoid spams and flood), with links to photos and videos. Constructors from the whole world could there speak about TrTr especially (maybe other Technic stuff as well …) • Website, All pages will be in English, plus some pages in local language and photos and videos. It could look like a blog, or (without willing to be that great), a TrTr-pedia. The website will also provide a member access. Member access Think of it like BS: you sign in, get an account (account on BS), add one page for each finished TrTr you built (folder) and give technical data and add pics and videos (only pics, text file or vids). The technical data will be entered according to a pre-set chart, to make things clear for everyone. These pages you created will be public and only modified by you. A global page will centralize all these data in some kind of Excel spreadsheet where you can compare trucks regarding some parameters: axel configuration, number of driving motors, scale, or type (Truck, pick-up …). People involved Anyone who would participate in the building of the website is welcome. The website is planned to contain articles describing building techniques, a History of Lego TrTr, rules (of course), tips and tricks … all sorts of articles are welcome. Anyone can write any article for the website, but there need to be some kind of “hierarchy”. Not a master-slave relation, but we need to set “roles”: Administrators, Webmasters, Moderators, Article writers, a Money-guy and Translators. Before setting everything up, I need to know how many persons really want to see this website emerge and let me know if you are ready to help (see “people involved”). If no one supports the idea, then it is worthless to start the whole thing. I hope everything is clear, please contact me at the following address to let me know what you think about this website.
