Hoovercraft Paul Kleniewski (pixel) made the first LEGO hoovercraft (I think) and got it working. And I got the impression that I could do it too. Here in this folder is some pictures of my atempt on making a efficient hovercraft fan/propeller and chassis. Picture comments; 01-prop.jpg A fan made of an old LEGO gear and some Williams F1 fairings. Blows outwards. 02-prop.jpg A fan made of an new type of LEGO 40 tooth gear and 4 smooth fairings. This one also blows outwards. 03-prop.jpg A fan made of 2 smooth small fairings panel #22/#23 and a long friction pin and a technic angel connector #1 or #2. This is the most efficient fan I've made so far. 04-prop.jpg Same as 03-prop but with bigger fairing panels (#20/#21). 05_body1.jpg My first atempt of an hoovercraft. I built it small to save weight. But the tunnel was not efficient enough. 06_body1.jpg 07_body1.jpg Same as 05_body1 but seen in diffrent angels. 08_body2.jpg New improved body with both lift and thrust. A much wider body and a fan tunnel that works much better than in body1. 09_lift_and_thrust.avi A small movie (DivX5 compressed) with sound :) First thrust test. 10_lift-thrust-steering.avi A small movie (DivX5 compressed) with sound. Now steering added. The small battery in front is placed to balance the craft. Here you can se how much power there is in this fans also. Now I'm going to test same ship with pixel's fan construction. Øyvind Steinnes Norway email: f0nix@i.am hp: http:/f0nix.i.am
