My Own Rip-Offs... I mean "Re-Creations" Troubador The next thing that I sumbled across that made me drool was GlaGla's "original Mech" http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=17114 How did it get so frigging poseable?!?!?! So I studied the pictures and began reverse engineering. I figured out ways to mimic almost everything, but decided I had to have a person inside it so I gave up on part of the shoulder joints. I began showing my freinds how cool it was, but without the head and legs not fully detailed they pointed at the Raziel and said "it isn't as cool as that one..." Philistines! Anyway, after an aborted night of trying to flesh out the legs, guess what came online? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=240050 #!@!%@#$!!!!!! If only that had been there earlier - or if only I had taken pictures sooner :) Now anyone can look at those instructions and make thier own version... which is a GREAT thing! admittedly I finally re-did my ankle design using the last few parts I had been saving for another porject, but now they are along GlaGla's designs. Obviously with my chages (especially the added weight and armor, my version isn't quite as flexible, and the head is.. well odd to say the least (though I find it endearing in a #5 sort of way). Using the Raziel hands was a mistake though, as it leads to weak wrists - which is why the main weapons are shoulder mounted. Still I now better understand how to make interesting Mecha.
